Healthcare standards

Care Quality Commission (CQC) - previously Heathcare Commission (HCC)

The healthcare commission was the responsibile organisation for monitoring standards and performance of NHS organisations throughout England.  The ratings provided between 2001 and 2005 were recorded on a star rating of zero to three.  The Trust's performance in these star ratings was as follows:

 

  • 2001 - zero

  • 2002 - two

  • 2003 - one

  • 2004 - zero

  • 2005 - one

 

Since April 2005 every NHS trust's performance is assessed on an annual basis by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is awarded an annual health check rating.  The Trust's performance in these assessments has been as follows:


  • 2006 - Clinical services - Fair, Financial management - Fair

  • 2007 - Clinical services - Fair, Financial management - Fair

  • 2008 - Clinical services - Fair, Financial management - Good

  • 2009 - Clinical services - Fair, Financial management - Excellent
