Strategic Commander for Medway and Swale Integrated Care Partnership

Harvey was the Trust’s Strategic Commander from March 2020, leading the hospital’s operational response to the pandemic. He is currently working as Strategic Commander for the ICP on programmes to recover and restore services post COVID-19, both at the Trust and across the Medway and Swale health and care system. He is also leading the work on preparing for future waves of coronavirus, working closely with regional and national teams.

In his role across the ICP and the Trust Harvey also leads on winter preparedness and system resilience, supporting the Trust and the ICP in getting ready for winter and its challenges, alongside preparing our wider health economy for EU exit planning and system resilience.

Harvey is the chair of the A&E Delivery Board, and is the Trust’s Accountable Emergency Officer and Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response executive.

Before joining Medway in October 2018, Harvey was the Deputy Director of Operations at Kings College Hospital, London, as well as spending time in leadership roles at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, and St George’s Hospital, London.
