  • Professional profile:

I qualified in 1989 from the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, and underwent my basic and specialist surgical training in London and Kent hospitals. I have been a consultant vascular surgeon since September 2005 and work part time as I am also a mother of three.

At the West Kent Vascular Centre I have been performing a wide range of vascular operations including the three index procedures (elective and emergency open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy and femoro-distal bypasses).  I perform carotid endarterectomy for symptomatic (transient ischaemic attacks, strokes and amaurosis fugax) and asymptomatic disease in selected patients for stroke prevention. I perform lower limb bypass grafts using both prosthetic and vein grafts and I am experienced in primary (long and short saphenous) and recurrent varicose vein surgery, lower and upper limb embolectomy, lower limb amputation and management of vascular trauma. I have an interest in wound management (diabetic feet and leg ulcers) including skin grafting. My next challenge is to comnmence undertaking EVAR (endpovascular repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms).
