Young people aged 18 to 24 who are currently unemployed, looking for work and claiming universal credit, are being given the chance to apply for one of 43 jobs with Medway NHS Foundation Trust as part of the Government’s Kickstart work scheme.

As well as providing successful applicants with 25 hours per week paid employment for six months, the Trust will also help successful applicants to develop their employability skills and look at career progression opportunities, working in partnership with Umbrella Training.

Several vacancies are available in each of the following roles:

  • Clinical support worker
  • Housekeeper
  • Customer navigator
  • Business administrator
  • Receipt and distribution clerk

Lucy Mason, the Trust’s Organisational Development Manager, said: “The scheme gives eligible young people the chance to learn valuable new skills, gain real life work experience and build confidence to prepare them to take on the challenges and prospects in the exciting careers that lie ahead of them.

“The scheme is funded by Department of Work and Pensions and every young person participating is guaranteed six months paid employment with the Trust. In addition, those appointed to the roles will be supported with development of employability skills and progression opportunities within the Trust.”

Anyone interested in applying for one of the vacancies is asked to contact their Job Centre work coach to express an interest in the first instance.

Applications need to be submitted by Sunday 23 January 2022. Interviews will be held at the end of the same month and successful applicants will start employment with the Trust this March.
