The hospital is part of a foundation trust which means that you can become a member and get involved with some of the hospital’s work. Membership is free and you can get involved as much or as little as you like.
Through our members and the governors, we are in a better position to listen and respond to the views of local people, patients and our staff. As a foundation trust, we remain firmly part of the NHS, but have greater freedom from central government control.
We believe that foundation trust status will help the hospital thrive in the future - becoming a stronger part of the community and being accountable to local people.
