Gary Lupton was appointed Director of Estates and Facilities in March 2018
Gary has worked in the NHS for 17 years and has joined the Trust from East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) having held senior roles in Finance, General Management, Site Management and Estates and Facilities, prior to this he worked in Banking and Finance.
During his time at EKHUFT he has been a key contributor on transformational changes in Kent and Medway such as the implementation of the PPCI (Heart Attack) service based at Ashford.
Gary’s most recent success has been implementing a review of Estates and Facilities which improved the experience of patients and staff, for this he received the Chairman’s award. Gary’s experience of transformational change started whilst working on the NatWest / RBS takeover bid, which led him to implementing service delivery changes during the merger of both organisations.
He has led on a number of significant business cases to provide the appropriate environment for new services and to provide resilience within his services, he also led the case for the procurement of one of the first Private hospitals by an NHS organisation.
