A touch of artistic magic has been added to the walls of Magpie Outpatients Clinic.
Thanks to 20-year-old Mason Cheema donating 100 hours of his spare time, a nature-inspired mural now greets patients and staff when they walk into the clinic.
The materials were generously provided by the our Women Children and Young People’s Division after Mason agreed to create the mural following a conversation with Matron Suzy Dolby earlier this year.
Although his work has previously been exhibited at Bluewater, this was Mason’s first experience of painting a full-scale mural directly on to a wall. Initially estimating 50 hours for the project, he ended up doubling the time to ensure the final result was of a quality he was proud of.
Mason, from Gillingham, said: “I wanted something uplifting that complemented the clinic’s other forest-themed designs—something that made people feel good when they walked in.”
Suzy said: “A huge thank you to Mason for taking on this project. His mural has not only transformed a wall but also the morale of patients, families, and staff who walk past it each day.”
