Catering provision extended for visitors and patients at Medway Maritime Hospital

We’re making it easier for visitors and patients to have a meal, snack or drink while at the hospital, by extending the weekday opening hours of our Below Deck Dining restaurant.

The main Below Deck Dining restaurant area (Level 1, Purple Zone) is now open from 7am to 11am and 12pm to 3pm Monday to Friday. It offers a wide range of home cooked, quality and good value hot and cold items. In addition, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks are also available.

Below Deck Galley, the coffee and deli service, is open 7am to 7pm for a range of salads, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Both areas are reserved for staff and emergency services use only between 12pm and 2pm on weekdays.

There are no changes to weekend access, when Below Deck Galley will continue to operate a deli service from 8am to 7pm for staff, emergency services, patients and visitors.

Payments remain card only – cash is not accepted.

Signage has been installed to show the new opening times for visitors and patients.

Alongside these extended hours, visitors, patients and staff can also access Medway League of Friends First Rate Café and Shop in the hospital’s main entrance.

Serving barista style coffee and drinks as well as a range of hot and cold snacks, they also sell a range of items including toiletries, newspapers, gifts, toys and books in the shop.
