Following recent elections by the Governors at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, we are pleased to confirm that David Brake is the new Lead Governor for Medway NHS Foundation Trust.

Governors help to oversee the work of NHS Foundation Trust. Elected by the Foundation Trust membership, made up of members of the public and staff, Governors scrutinise the work of the Trust board and ensure that non-executive directors of the Trust are delivering on their duties as board members for the benefit of the Trust’s local community.

As an elected member of Medway Council, David is a partner Governor representing the local authority in his role as a Councillor. As Lead Governor, he has a key role in drawing together the views of the governors and co-ordinating scrutiny of and feedback to the Trust board.

Trust Chair, Jo Palmer, said: “We value the part that Governors play in driving improvements for our patients. David is very experienced as a community leader in Medway and I look forward to working with him as Lead Governor. I’d also like to thank Glyn Allen, who is stepping down after his term as Lead Governor, for his support and the significant contribution he has made to the hospital.”
