Kind-hearted cyclist donates smart TV to children’s ward

Kind hearted cyclist

A kind-hearted cyclist has donated a smart TV to the children’s ward at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Mark Searle from East Grinstead in West Sussex raised almost £400 following his participation in the Dulux Trade London Revolution cycle ride – a gruelling two-day 185 mile ride around the perimeter of London. Mark has visited family on Dolphin Ward in the past and felt compelled to give something back to the children and staff.

Mark recently presented the 39 inch smart LED TV to Ann McKinnon, Hospital Play Specialist. Speaking of his fundraising efforts, Mark said: “It is an absolute pleasure to present this gift to the children and staff on Dolphin Ward. Our niece has to spend a lot of time on the ward and I just felt motivated to give something back to them.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Avensys Ltd in Crawley for helping us make the money we raised go so much further - and even donating the wall stand themselves.”

Ann McKinnon said: “The children will be absolutely delighted with this fantastic gift. It can be tough on children when they are away from home, so it’s important that we try and make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. On behalf of the ward, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Mark for his magnificent contribution. We are extremely grateful.”
