For our Hospital Hero Award, patients and members of the public were asked to send in their nominations to thank staff for their dedication, hard work and compassion.
We had 50 nominations for this award which shows just how much the work we do here at the Trust is appreciated by the communities we serve.
A special mention goes to our Maternity Team. They had many nominations for colleagues across the team, praising their care, compassion and support during both difficult and straightforward times.
Highly commended went to Dr Ghada Ramadan, Consultant Neonatologist in the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit whose was nominated for her positive attitude, kind gestures and endless reassurance.
Our overall Hospital Hero Award Winner for 2022 is Jackie Hammond, Clinical Nurse Lead, SMART (pictured left with Trust Chair, Jo Palmer). Jackie was nominated for constantly caring for all patients and seeking ways to enhance and improve their recovery illness but most importantly gives them choices in their care.
Chief Executive Jayne Black said: “The awards are a fantastic way for us, as an organisation, to recognise and reward those who have gone the extra mile, or shown great passion and commitment to making our work environment the best it can be for both colleagues and patients.
“Importantly, they let colleagues know their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed, something which is really needed after the difficult year we have all faced.
“More than 150 nominations were received in total with the standard of entries extremely high, so a huge thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination.
“Well done and congratulations to all our winners as well as those who were highly commended or received a special mention. It is great to hear how the work we are doing benefits both patients and colleagues.”
