A couple from Medway have raised an incredible £2,473.29 for The Medway Hospital Charity by hosting a charity gig.
Harry and Rachael Sherlock, who went through the most awful experience of not being able to have their baby, wanted to thank staff at Medway Maritime Hospital for their support and kindness.
Through donations and hosting a charity gig in August, they raised the money to support the work of the Early Assessment Pregnancy Clinic (EPAC).

Rachael said: “We had a complex pregnancy. I have polycystic ovary syndrome and when we found out I was pregnant, we didn’t know how far along we were.
“I started bleeding, so we were referred to EPAC and found out we were only three weeks in. I was asked to come back two weeks later but at that point there wasn’t any fetal development, meaning our baby couldn’t be born.
“We were advised to have a medical management of the pregnancy but that didn’t work so I had to come back for a manual vacuum aspiration.
“It was an awful experience for us but we were both looked after exceptionally well by staff. They were brilliant, so wonderfully caring. We were in an impossible situation and they supported us through every procedure and we cannot thank them enough for their kindness.
Harry added: “We would also like to thank our family and friends for all their support during this traumatic time and, to everyone who made a donation, we really appreciate your gift. We’d also like a special mention for Sam at Three Sheets to the Wind pub for hosting the charity gig. It was a great event and everyone had a fantastic time.”
Donna Law, Head of The Medway Hospital Charity said: “We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Harry and Rachael for raising such an incredible sum of money for the charity.
“Every contribution we receive helps us continue our work supporting patients, visitors and staff at Medway Maritime Hospital.”
Since 1995, The Medway Hospital Charity has supported patients, staff and volunteers by funding medical equipment, improving hospital spaces, and promoting wellbeing.
Look out for ways to help support the charity as it celebrates its 30th anniversary on their website.
