Messages for loved ones
Date: 20 December 2020

We are inviting relatives and friends of patients being cared for at Medway Maritime Hospital to send in a message of support whilst visiting restrictions are in place during the COVID-19 outbreak.
We understand how important it is for you to express words of comfort to your loved ones at this unprecedented time; to help you communicate with them we are now able to share messages directly with your loved ones to ensure they know you are thinking of them.
How do I send a message?
You can send a personal message or messages from family groups by email to medwayft.patientexperience@nhs.net and we will ensure your message gets delivered by the staff caring for your loved one.
Please provide the following information to ensure your message reaches your loved one:
- Your name
- Your contact details
- The patients name (in full)
- Ward (if known)
- Date of birth (if known)
When can I send a message?
Messages can be sent anytime by email and they will be collated daily from Monday to Friday.
What happens to my message when I’ve sent it?
All messages will be collated daily and sent electronically to the ward team looking after your loved one. The message will be shared with your loved one and they will be able to keep the printed message.
We do not have the ability for your loved one to respond to the message at this time but we hope that inviting families to send messages of love and support will provide comfort and ease the burden that restricted contact brings.
