Rainbow day fundraisers kick-off to mark NHS anniversary!

Hedgehogs Nursery in Rochester has started a week-long rainbow-themed fundraiser to help kick-off celebrations in the community for the 75th anniversary of the NHS (Wednesday 5 July 2023). The colourful events are raising money for The Medway Hospital Charity and being hosted by schools and nurseries across Medway and Swale this week (3 to 7 July 2023). The celebration at Hedgehogs Nursery got off to an exciting start with a special visit from Tedway, the Charity mascot!

Alice Relf, Nursery Leader, Hedgehogs Rochester, said: “We are very proud to support the NHS and The Medway Hospital Charity during this week of important celebrations – the children were incredibly excited to meet Tedway, and take part in lots of rainbow-themed activities including a big tea splat, hand printing, and much dressing up!

“We know that the NHS does a fantastic job caring for patients young, old, and everyone else in between, and we hope that by hosting this event and making a small donation we can help our local hospital fund extra items for the benefits of staff and patients.”

It was fantastic to see so many staff and children dressed up in support of the NHS, and we were delighted to introduce them to our mascot, Tedway!’’
