Successful launch for patient belonging drop-off service

Date: 16 February 2021

Drop off news

We are happy to reveal that the launch of the patient belongings drop-off service at Medway Maritime Hospital has been successful after more than 500 bags containing essential items were delivered to patients last month.

We thank everyone in the community who has made use of this service and continues to show patience and understanding while limited visiting is in place at Medway Maritime Hospital.

As a reminder, the new drop off service, launched in January 2021, is being facilitated by our reception team and allows family members to drop off one bag of belongings, to reception, via the front of the entrance of the hospital.

All items should arrive in a sealed bag/ruck sack and must be wiped down before delivery.

Please note that due to infection control risks, only essential items should be delivered, such as a change of clothes, glasses, a small number bathroom essentials, and one small comforting personal item, for example a photo or book.

From Monday 22 February 2021, the hours of the service are:

  • 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday
  • 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays

Thank you for your cooperation.
