Nominations are now open for vacancies on our Council of Governors (CoG) – could you join us in this exciting and important role?
We have three vacancies on our CoG that we are looking to fill. Two seats are for a Public Governor to represent the constituency of Medway and the other is to represent the Rest of England and Wales (anywhere outside of Medway and Swale).
If you would like to play an active part in ensuring the voice of local people and patients is heard in our hospital, then this role may be for you.
Public Governors have many duties, including making sure that the views of local people are represented when decisions about hospital services are made. Governors seek feedback from their constituents, hold our Non Executive Directors to account and can seek assurance on matters of concern.
Governors also support our programme of community engagement and can be part of assessments to inspect the quality of care on our wards.
Trust members are invited to consider standing as a candidate in their constituency. Membership is free and open to anyone aged 16 and over who lives in England and Wales.
Attendance at some meetings, including the Annual Members Meeting, is mandatory and Governors are expected to dedicate approximately five hours per month to the role. Please consider carefully whether you can meet these expectations before applying.
Nominations opened on 22 May and close on 10 June. Successful candidates will start their terms in August 2025 for three years.
