Video consultation appointments
Medway NHS Foundation Trust has implemented new ways of working, and looking at how it can best serve all patients within the community. We now offer video consultation appointments as an alternative to standard face-to-face appointments or telephone appointments. This allows us to deliver a more flexible service and limit the need for patients to travel to the hospital unnecessarily.
The product that we use is called Attend Anywhere which is supported by NHS England.
The Trust will contact patients that are deemed suitable and offer the choice of having their appointment via video consultation. Those patients who accept to have their appointments via this method will be sent details on how to log into the clinic, and which devices and web browsers can be used for the consultation. (please refer to video and link below)
Video consultation appointments are an alternative way that patients can still interact with their consultant, nurse, or other medical practitioner without having to travel to hospital and without the associated expense. The consultation can be taken anywhere as long as the patient has internet connectivity and a suitable device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
For best access it is recommended that the following devices, operating systems, and web browsers are used:
- Google Chrome web browser on a desktop or laptop, or on an Android tablet or smartphone
- Safari web browser on a Mac, iPad, or iPhone
